Hunter Grace
PRESIDENT
Hunter Grace is an Iowa native who currently resides in Ames. In 2021 he graduated from Iowa State University with degrees in both accounting and finance, and is currently studying for the CPA exam. When he is not teaching band he works in the tax department of MHCS, P.C. in West Des Moines.
Hunter was fortunate enough to spend his WGI career with Crossroads Percussion (2018-2021). He also had the privilege of marching with the Iowa State Drumline (2017-2020), River City Rhythm DBC (2018-2019), and aging out with The Cavaliers (2020-2021).
Outside of Crossroads he has had the opportunity to instruct local programs including Nevada High School and Waukee Northwest High School. He also serves as a tenor technician at Iowa State University and River City Rhythm DBC. Hunter is thrilled to return to Crossroads for his third season on staff!
Sean Griffen
SECRETARY
Sean Griffen, Originally from Red Oak, Iowa, graduated Iowa State University with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering in 2021 and later received his masters of Engineering in the same field in 2024. In his day job, he is an Embedded Systems Engineer at Vermeer Corporation working on the software systems for small resource management equipment like stump cutters and brush chippers.
To start his marching career, Sean marched with the ONE Percussion WGI Indoor group out of Omaha, Nebraska his senior year in high school. He continued to be involved with the marching arts in college by marching in the Iowa State Drumline his entire undergrad tenure at the university and by performing in the 2018 - 2021 seasons of Crossroads Percussion. After aging out of the marching activities, Sean has continued to stay involved by volunteering to help instruct drumlines at Iowa State's GROOVE drumline club and Nevada Iowa Community Schools in the past. He currently instructs the "Marching Rams" high school drumline in Glenwood, Iowa.
Ellie Henson
BOARD MEMBER
Ellie Henson is a music educator, trombonist, and functional movement specialist from Des Moines, IA. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Iowa and her Master’s Degree from Sam Houston State University, both in music education.
In her 11th year in education, Ellie currently serves as the Director of Bands at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, IA. Her ensembles have earned high placements and numerous awards in a variety of activities. Ellie began a winter percussion program at Roosevelt in 2023. Ellie is also a Functional Movement Specialist with an emphasis on Rotational Movement Training, blending restorative movement with athletic performance.
Ellie has previously taught public school in Colorado and Texas, been on visual staff with the Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps and Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, and been a personal trainer and group fitness coach.
Madison Mason
BOARD MEMBER
Madison Mason is a Certified Nonprofit Professional with a B.A. in Performing Arts Management and a minor in Education Studies from the University of Northern Iowa. She has served as a Development Specialist and grant writer supporting various mission driven nonprofits across the Iowa Cedar Valley, with a focus on strategic growth, grant development, and sustainable fundraising.Now based in Warwick, Rhode Island, Madison serves as secretary for the Woonsocket Area Career and Technical Center, where she assists in managing federal grants and supports vocational programs that provide students with early certification and professional development opportunities in partnership with local organizations. Alongside her work in education, she teaches private woodwind and brasswind music lessons to beginner students with a focus on early applied theory.
As a former baritone with the Blue Stars, Madison blends her passion for the arts with her expertise in nonprofit administration. Her background in the marching arts includes multiple administrative roles with Drum Corps International organizations, most recently as Production Manager for River City Rhythm. Her niche background reflects a strong commitment to creating safe cultures and equitable opportunities for youth engagement in the fine arts.
Madison remains deeply involved in the marching arts, volunteering year around for various programs and dedicating much of her free time to advancing the growth of the activity in the Midwest even at a distance- beginning here, at Crossroads.
Nick Feingold
BOARD MEMBER
Nick Feingold hails from and currently lives in West Des Moines, IA. He attended the University of Iowa for French Horn Performance and dedicated independent focus to the marching arts. While not performing and teaching where time allows, Nick is a repair shop assistant at Sleister Music in Ankeny Iowa where he performs ultrasonic cleaning and basic repair on brass and percussion instruments.
Nick was a five year member and section leader of the Hawkeye Marching Band mellophone section, marched Mellophone with the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps in 2022 and marched Cymbals with Crossroads Percussion in 2024. He now teaches and works for several organizations including The Colt Cadets (Brass/Cymbals/Visual), the Valley Marchmasters (Brass/Visual Design), and Roosevelt Indoor Percussion (Cymbals). Nick also works with the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps in varying capacities including serving as the Prop Manager for their 2025 summer tour.
Nick hopes to bring the perspective of a recent member, and his passion for member and staff experience and safety to the board as he rejoins the growing organization.
Tenea Fabray
BOARD MEMBER
Tenea Fabray was born and raised in Des Moines, IA. She is a graduate of Iowa State University with her Bachelor of Arts in Music, where she studied under Dr. Matthew Coley and Dr. Jonathan Sharp. During her time at ISU, she was part of many ensembles, including the concert bands, Symphony Orchestra, ISUCF’V’MB Drumline, ISU Percussion Ensemble, and Cyclone Sound (WGI WIO). Tenea also graduated from Drake University where she earned her Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Music Education.
In her time not working for West Music and Percussion Source, Tenea spends most of her time teaching percussion in the Central Iowa area. She also teaches private lessons, marching percussion, and percussion ensemble at local middle and high schools. She currently serves as the Front Ensemble Tech for the Roosevelt Roughrider Regiment, and Roosevelt Indoor Percussion.
Tenea is incredibly excited to serve as an integral member of the team for the passionate players and staff that make up Crossroads Indoor!
