PRESIDENT

Travis Hattery

Travis Hattery was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa. In 2015, he earned a B.S. degree from Iowa State University in Chemical Engineering as well as a minor in Biomedical Engineering, and recently completed his Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at Iowa State University. Travis is an endorsed Percussion Educator with Innovative Percussion.

Travis’ performance experience includes The Colt Cadets Open Class Drum and Bugle Corps (Tenors 2008-2009, Drum Major 2010), The Colts Drum and Bugle Corps (Tenors 2011), The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps (Tenors 2012-2014), and Gateway Indoor Percussion (Tenors 2012-2013). He also was a member of the Iowa State University Marching Band.

As an educator, Travis has worked with numerous ensembles as a battery music technician, and has served on several world-class visual teams, including The Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, and The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps.

Travis currently serves as the Visual Coordinator for the Iowa State University Marching Band, and teaches genetics and biology in higher education. He also writes battery music and visual packages for several high schools in the region.

Vice President

Ryan Renbarger

Ryan Renbarger, currently a resident of Pleasant Hill, IA, graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University in May 2016, and now works at Ajinomoto North America as Engineering Manager for Automation and Digital Transformation.

Ryan is originally from Superior, CO. He got involved in music at a very early age, playing instruments including piano, guitar, handbells, and saxophone. As a sophomore in high school, he joined his high school drumline, Monarch High School Indoor Percussion (MIP) as a Bass drummer for one year and a Tenor drummer for two years. MIP traveled to Dayton, OH in 2010 and 2012, marching in Scholastic Open Class. Ryan then moved on to march for Iowa State University on tenor drums, and participated in Cyclone Sound, a WGI Winds Independent Open program for two years.

Ryan has helped as an instructor for Monarch High School in Louisville, CO as well as Oskaloosa High School in Oskaloosa, IA. Currently, he is a battery instructor at Northwest High School in Waukee, IA, as well an instructor for the combined indoor drumline Waukee Indoor. He is extremely passionate about indoor marching arts, has loved seeing the activity begin to flourish in Iowa in the past few years, and can’t wait to see where it goes!

TREASURER

Hunter Grace

Hunter Grace is an Iowa native who currently resides in Ames. In 2021 he graduated from Iowa State University with degrees in both accounting and finance, and is currently studying for the CPA exam. When he is not teaching band he works in the tax department of MHCS, P.C. in West Des Moines.

Hunter was fortunate enough to spend his WGI career with Crossroads Percussion (2018-2021). He also had the privilege of marching with the Iowa State Drumline (2017-2020), River City Rhythm DBC (2018-2019), and aging out with The Cavaliers (2020-2021).

Outside of Crossroads he has had the opportunity to instruct local programs including Nevada High School and Waukee Northwest High School. He also serves as a tenor technician at Iowa State University and River City Rhythm DBC. Hunter is thrilled to return to Crossroads for his third season on staff!

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Jack Hansen

Jack Hansen, originally from Brookings, SD, is a graduate of Iowa State University where he received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering and his M.B.A. Currently living in Des Moines, IA, Jack is an Advanced Project Engineer at 3M, managing multiple capital projects at manufacturing plants across the Midwest.

In his marching career, Jack has been fortunate to march with River City Rhythm (2016), ISUCF’V’MB (2017-2021) serving 2 seasons as the snare guide and drum major for the 2021 football season, and Crossroads Percussion (2018-2021) serving as battery captain for his final season.

As an educator, Jack is currently a snare technician for the Iowa State Drumline, writes and teaches at Newton High School, and serves as a supporting clinician at the Cyclone Percussion Academy. Before moving to Iowa, Jack was a battery technician for various groups in the Sioux Falls, SD area including Brandon Valley High School, Sioux Falls Washington, West Central High School, and Brookings Marching Percussion.

In his new role as Operations Director, Jack is excited to combine his expertise in project management with his marching background to support the Crossroads administrative team.

ASSETS DIRECTOR

Trevor Errthum

Trevor Errthum just finished marching his 5th and age-out year with Crossroads Percussion on drumset, and has also performed with River City Rhythm Drum and Bugle Corps and the Iowa State University Cyclone Football 'Varsity' Marching Band. After attending Iowa State University for engineering and industrial design, he is now a laser cutter operator and helps build marching band equipment and theater sets for local high schools in his free time. Trevor currently lives in Knoxville, IA with his cat, three dogs, a bird and a (fake) duck, and is excited to serve the organization as the equipment and assets director!
